Mark DeMontis is a blind hockey player rollerblading his way across Canada, and tomorrow his stop is the Friendly City.
DeMontis is blading to raise awareness for his non-profit organization, Courage Canada, which aims to provide youth hockey to those with visual impairments.
The skate, which began in Toronto and ends in Vancouver, has been a challenge.
“I knew going into the skate that it wasn’t going to be easy,” said DeMontis. “There’s been some rough days, obviously being on the road for six or seven hours a day.”
Mark lost his sight at the age of 17 as a blossoming young hockey player with aspirations of making his way to the NHL.
When his vision was taken away by Leber’s Optical Neuropathy, he went into his senior year of high school without the game he had loved.
As time passed, his disability became his strength, and now he’s one of the country’s youngest public speakers. Courage Canada aims to provide youth with visual handicaps a chance to participate in hockey.

Im interested in this article, because I believe this is a very inspiratinol story, and its coming to moose jaw. Everyone can know what this guy has gone through, and show that blind people can also accomplish goals in their life. Just to see this guy and what he has gone through would be a life changing experience. He faces problems every day, and isn’t afraid of what people think, I believe thats how everyone should be.

I would go to the Dominican Rebublic, because its nice and warm and somewhere to relax and get away from all the stress in my lifetime. It is also a great vacationing spot, and I can watch baseball which is my favorite sport !

I believe the most importatant stage of the production process is Pre-Production because you have to know everything you are doing, the information, and what you are saying before hand. You have to know everything and all the information before you start the presentation.

2 50 million text messages are sent and recieved each day around the world, If everyone was limited to 5 text messages sent and 3 text messages recieved each day wouldnt have a big impact on me because I can get my feelings across in 5 text messages to a person. People usually talk about what are you doing, how are you and things like that . In my opinion some people will not be able to cope with the change, because they are highly addicted to their cellphone.

Nasa has been using technology since it was founded which is a long, long time ago. It is important for them to have the latest technology so they can find the lastest things in space and about space. Without the billions of dollars they spend each year on technology they would falll behind and wouldn’t be able to discover as many things. I think if we didn’t spend all that money on technology for NASA each year though we’d have cures for a lot more dieases, possibly even Cancer with the billions upon billions we spend on NASA.

Facebook has been an impact in my life greatly becasue every day i go on it to look at pictures comunicate with friends that are on facebook as well. I have learned that they are very dedicated to Regina and Southern Saskatchewan and have served them since 1954. They have 2 Co-Anchors who are Carla Beynon and Manfred Joehnck. CTV offers supper-time and late-night newscasts. CTV is a proud and strong member of the community. They also participate in many local charitable events.

I think the video is very good, and it does make me think twice about texting while driving. The video was very insipirational and I believe it causes alot of accidents. When I start to drive, I will never text while driving becuase its very dangerous and can cause life ending accidnets. I feel those people who text and drive are extremely stupid.

The moves that are playing at the Galaxy right now are Zombieland, The Invention of Lying, The Surrogates, Fame, Trailer Park Boys - Countdown to Liquor day, Cloudy with a chance of meayballs. I would most likely want to go to Trailer Park Boys - Countdown to liquor day because everyone says its funny. My favorite snack at the movies is Yogen Fruz, because its a bunch of fruit mixed together and they also taste soooo good !

I would bring my cellphone so I could get ahold of someone if something went wrong, I would also bring matches so I could light a fire every night mostly. Also I would bring lots of food so I would never get hungry, and if i did get hungry I would make my own spear and hunt some fish.

My group is copying a video of youtube called Walk In Closet. The 5 duties for the director are filming almost every angle, and keeping an eye on everyone and make sure they do their job. I am looking forward to acting as the director, because it will be a great experience.

I have just been a really great student when we have a subsitute teacher, I listen too her and make sure to do everything she tells me too. My favorite reality show is Survivior because it shows real life situatuions and what its like to be on your own for 1 month and coping with all the distractions.

A podcast is usually consists of a combination of audio and/or video that is made available for download via syndication. Blog #33 - Google the CTV News Net "Computer Virus or April Fool's Joke" news broadcast on March 23rd. What did you learn? (3-4 sentences).
This could be a big deal according to many people. Alot of other sites say that the Canadian Internet Registration Authority has issued a warning about the latest version of the Conficker worm, which could possibly have infected any computers running a Microsoft operating system which is a lot of computers in households. It also has a lot defensive measures designed to evade detection and removal by disabling Windows Automatic Updates and Windows Security Center. Apparently 3 to 12 million computers are supposed to be infected. Also who sets up this worm is still a mystery but Microsoft is offering lots of money for someone to give up the creator of the Conficker worm. I learned that it could be a big deal but I’m not worried about it seeing as my stupid laptop is broken and not gonna be on them so its whatever basically.

The most successful ad campaign in Canada is Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim To Win. It seems like everyone always goes to Tim Hortons when this campaign comes out. I think this is because everyone likes to have a chance at winning something. Adding in a chance at a prize makes people want to buy from Tim Hortons even more.

Five day time talk shows are: Opera, Dr. Phil, Ellen, Regis and Kelly, and the Maury show. My favourite would have to be none because im in school when there on. I”ve seen some of Ellen in the lounge in the morning and its just bad.

I liked the CTV newsroom the best becuase we got to watch the news live, and meet every single cast member. We also were on the news and that was quite fun. I also liked everyone that came on the field trip.

Generally i like choc glazed donuts and apple juice when i go to tims. Choc glazed has 260 calories and apple juice has 130 calories.

We havent reciever our report cards yet because they come in the mail, but im hoping for ocer 85′s in all of my classes. Im taking all my neeeded classes for next year.

I learned that music star makeovers make you look more pretty, and they really show your shape and facial expressions. I also learned that some people look better than others, and some will turn out just looking freaky. Its all about taking chances and knowing who you are working with.

Cybercrime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This includes anything from downloading illegal music files to stealing millions of dollars from online bank accounts. Cybercrime also includes non-monetary offenses, such as creating and distributing viruses on other computers or posting confidential business information on the Internet

Im not looking forward to seeing “new moon” because im not a big fan of the Twilight series. In my opinion twilight is not really good, and its all about Taylor Lautner. But I might go see the movie, and I would probaly not recommend the movie to anyone else.

The longest day is June 21st and the shortest is December 21st. It’s very hard to determine the sunrise and sunset so far in advance, especially since it’s dependant on your location.

He talked about piracy. This is the illegal downloading of any files that you normally have to pay for to obtain. In reality, most people pirate things that they would not buy anyways. This means the company would probably still be making about the same amount of money. I think that if you pirate something that you enjoy using/playing/listening to quite often and it is at an affordable price then you should buy it. Hopefully this sends companies the message that they need to lower their prices

The movie Antitrust was really good, and showed everyone was cyber bullying is. It talked about cyber bullying and how bad it is, cyber bullying can really hurt someone because words speak louder than actions these days.

This article is about a young girl who started a Facebook group called “Hit a Prep”. This group encouraged other teens to target people who wear certain brands of clothing, and hit them on a specific date. The spokesperson of the girl’s school division said they will talk to the girl. The page has since been taken down.

I think it’s a combination of all three. I think the last guy was the most twisted. He’s really messed up and I think it’s because of a condition that was prodded by antisocial behavior and a rough, secluded upbringing.

To be completely honest, I haven’t seen any of these movies. I wanted to see No Country For Old Men. I’ll watch it eventually. And then I’d probably watch Letters From Iwo Jima. Most of the movies on this list are ones I’d watch with my dad, and not with my friends or alone.

People are so stupid and really only bully to make themselves feel better. When something gets posted on the internet, it doesn’t stop just there. I’m glad that girl had to go to juvie. Bullying is ridiculous.

It It went by far to quickly.. Some family came for a bit and i got some nice presents! Worked long shifts.. Hung out on NewYears with Steph, ate some asian food.. Watched a movie! It was a much needed break and i’m super upset it’s over. I didn’t do anything super special, but it was decent.

Another reason why everyone should get an iPhone. Other than the fact that we could Ping!, but that’s beside the point. This guy was trapped under some rubble and used an app on his iPhone to tell him how to treat his wounds. He also used the alarm to keep him from falling asleep until the rescuers came and got him.
